"I danced! Growing up as a little girl I loved to dance.  Some of my favorite memories are of dancing.  Then my body changed and I stopped dancing.  I had decided that I just could not dance again, that my body would not allow me to be able to do that.  So for the past 20 year I stayed away from the very thing that had brought me joy and life.  How sad. 

A few years ago I started training with Michelle and building back my confidence in what I could do. I started jogging, losing weight, being stronger, and gaining in my confidence. Yet, I still told myself I couldn't dance.  I would tell myself since my body no longer looked like a dancer's body that I shouldn't do it.  

January came around and it was time to set a new goal to work towards.  I was stronger, fitter, and better with cardio, so on a whim and to break the lie that I couldn't dance, I decided to audition for a local musical.  Never in my wildest dreams did I think they'd cast me, but they did, and not just to act.  They cast me to dance...and tap!

The past two months were filled with long, three hour dance rehearsals twice or three times a week. And guess what, my body kept up.  Michelle and I worked out specific workouts to keep my ankles and knees good, we scheduled lots of active recovery days, and I did it.  Not only did I do it, but I loved it.  I broke off the lie that I couldn't dance or would never dance again, and I found freedom in using my body in a way that brings me such joy!"
